Lila Brocha

Maria Victoria Walker, known in the art world as Lila Brochá, first ventured into painting as a casual afternoon hobby while balancing a corporate career and family life. With no formal training, her passion for art grew over the years, leading to the development of her distinct artistic persona. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Maria immigrated to the United States in 1989. Her work embodies a rich blend of past and present experiences, infused with vibrant colors, textures, and imaginative patterns that reflect her multicultural background.

Since retiring in 2021, Maria has fully dedicated herself to her art. She became a member of SAGE Green Bay that same year and later joined the Green Bay Art Colony in 2022. Her involvement with these organizations has led her to multiple exhibits and community events, including:

– SAGE Green Bay’s Toy Maker’s Fundraiser at the Neville Public Museum (2021-2024)

– Green Bay Art Colony’s Annual Juried Exhibit (since 2022)

– Neville Public Museum Art Annual Juried Exhibits (77th, 78th, and upcoming 79th editions)

Maria’s works have been showcased at various prestigious venues across Wisconsin, including:

– Art Connective

– Roberta’s Gallery at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater

– S.A.G.E. Gallery
