Artist Statement
Life experiences teach us to value special things; certain passages in music, favorite flavors, colors, activities and subjects. Some of these are patterns in the clouds, shadows pouring over uneven surfaces, mist rising from waterfalls or shrouding distant mountains.
As an artist, my purpose is to capture that something special, which gives the viewer an appreciation for something which may have been overlooked or greater insight into the beauty around him. Using light and shadow, color and composition, I become a vessel, distilling the composition through my personality and pouring it out on a surface for other people to reflect upon.
Artist Biography
I have always liked to draw. When family time opened up, I took a watercolor class. Within a year I was juried into my first art show. Our success led to 28 years of exhibiting my paintings at quality art shows throughout the midwest, CO, AZ, FL, NY etc… I have a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education so it was natural to begin teaching classes in these areas and HI. We purchased a gallery in Door County in 2008 and have continued on since then successfully
