Since moving to Door County in 2013, I relish morning walks with my dog along the beach and hiking trails of Whitefish Dunes State Park and Cave Point County Park. This has long been my sacred space. My pastels are inspired by the ever-changing skies of Door County as the sun rises. I am continually amazed by the rich colors of the sky and textures of the swiftly moving cloud formations. Color and texture are the two elements that continually fascinate me and open my eyes to a wider world around me. Pastels offer me the opportunity to rapidly capture the early morning light and saturated colors of the fields, trees, water and sky that continue to nourish my spirit on a daily basis.
